This letterbook records Fitch's correspondence to American and English merchants and ship captains from 1 February 1702/03 to 22 October 1711. Edward Shippen (b. Boston, Massachusetts, July 9, 1703; d. Lancaster, Pennsylvania, September 25, 1781) was a wealthy merchant and government official in colonial Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
